Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Endoscopy Technician to join our team at Northern Arizona Healthcare. As an Endoscopy Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our endoscopy department.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the healthcare team during pre, intra, and post-procedure patient care, including specimen handling.
  • Process and request provider orders to RN.
  • Provide psychological and social support for patients and families.
  • Transport patients to and from the unit, as well as discharge.
Observation and Documentation
  • Complete thorough observations at the time of contact and update when care and practice indicate a change in patient status.
  • Observe and communicate changes to RN.
  • Report and implement corrective action, as directed by RN, based on the recognition of subtle changes in the condition of the patient.
  • Address technical needs to meet patient conditions.
  • Document intervention and patient response to interventions and any changes in patient condition on CIS.
  • Communicate and document expressed patient/family needs.
  • Communicate need for appropriate referrals to RN.
Equipment and Supplies
  • Manage equipment and supplies.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in the use of department medical equipment.
  • Refer to unit-specific competency summation.
  • Process equipment to provide proper and safe disinfection or sterilization.
Compliance and Safety
  • Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attend all safety-related training programs; perform work in a safe manner; monitor work environment for possible safety issues and ensure others are also performing work in a safe manner.
  • Adhere to regulatory and organizational standards affecting patient care and safety as well as all hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Practice in a safe and cost-effective manner.
  • Stay current and comply with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility.
  • If required for the position, ensure all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.
  • Complete all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training within the specified time frame.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED - Required
  • Certification & Licensures: BLS (American Heart Assoc) - Required upon hire; SGNA certification - Preferred
  • Experience: Recent experience as Endoscopy Tech - Preferred
