As a Senior Network Security Engineer, you'll be an integral part of our diverse team, working on cutting-edge projects that offer opportunities for advancement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement robust network security solutions, including firewalls, proxies, and VPN concentrators.
  • Develop and maintain network operating rules, objects, and flows across complex global enterprises.
  • Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and data scientists to deliver continuous improvement in cyber defense and resilience.
  • Provide guidance to Security Operations and other Information Security teams on security strategies, processes, and technologies.
  • Support Incident Response on security incidents, including mock security incident exercises.
  • Analyze network infrastructure to identify opportunities for improvement and reduce the threat profile.
  • Provide mentorship and training on areas of expertise to Information Security and other internal teams.
  • Participate in audits covering network security services and technologies.
  • Contribute to proactive research and provide recommendations for continuous improvement on information security technologies, processes, and services.
  • Participate in on-call coverage and perform effective escalation of problems and issues.
  • Present project status reports to senior management and adhere to policies and practices relative to technical guidelines and change management processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in researching, evaluating, testing, recommending, and implementing new security software or devices.
  • Experience in managing firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
  • Experience with developing, testing, and operating firewalls, intrusion detection systems, enterprise anti-virus systems, and software deployment tools.
  • Familiarity with current network security technological developments and applications.
  • Experience with evaluating vendor products to make recommendations for purchase.
Security Clearance Requirements:
  • Active Top Secret clearance.
Physical Requirements:
  • Work to be performed at a government facility in the National Capitol Region.
  • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel.
