About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled CFD Consultant to join our team at WSP. As a key member of our Built Ecology team, you will play a crucial role in delivering innovative solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize CFD tools to solve complex physics-based problems related to indoor and outdoor building flows, thermal comfort, contaminant dispersion, and condensation controls.
  • Improve existing analytical capabilities by developing and improving best practices, automating processes, and streamlining workflows.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of relevant computational fluids research in the building mechanical field with proactive research.
  • Document and report analysis activities and design advice to design teams and clients.
  • Liaise with internal teams to facilitate the achievement of project sustainability objectives.
  • Review building documentation for the integration of high-performance design aspects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on thermal-fluid sciences.
  • 3-5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledgeable on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Advance Fluid Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, and Building Mechanical Systems.
  • Ability to perform quality work within deadlines.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on thermal-fluid sciences.
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding and using CFD analysis software (STAR CCM+, Fluent, FDS, OpenFOAM, FLOEFD, Tileflow, 6SigmaRoom).
  • Familiarity with software development for writing User Defined Functions (UDF) for commercial software.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and building physics for data centers, hospitals, laboratories, commercial buildings, and battery energy storage systems.
