This position plays a crucial role in supporting Military Construction (MILCON) and other engineering initiatives, ensuring that all work aligns with established specifications, standards, and timelines. In this role, you will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders, evaluate designs, coordinate construction efforts, and guarantee compliance with applicable regulations and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Evaluation and Coordination:
  • Examine plans, designs, drawings, and specifications created by licensed professional engineers.
  • Review design documents and deliverables at all phases to ensure final approval.
  • Engage with stakeholders to address construction Requests for Information (RFIs) and manage project completion deliverables.
Documentation and Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Organize, validate, and disseminate all design plans, specifications, and project turnover documents.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with project sponsors and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Facilitate facility planning, management, and coordination efforts for the Facilities Department.
Regulatory Compliance and Standards:
  • Identify new planning standards, Unified Facilities Criteria (UFCs), and regulations impacting projects.
  • Recommend modifications to current planning to incorporate updates and ensure adherence to existing criteria.
  • Implement UFCs, technical criteria, and other requirements in project development and planning documents.
Project Scheduling:
  • Ensure compliance with project schedules by coordinating with personnel and stakeholders.
  • Oversee critical initiatives and operations associated with project requirements.
Reporting and Documentation:
  • Produce analyses, reports, and briefings to keep stakeholders informed and support decision-making.
  • Maintain issue logs and project comment lists, coordinating project RFIs throughout all project phases.
Qualifications:
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Professional Civil Engineering License
  • Familiarity with DoD and Marine Corps policies related to facilities planning and engineering projects
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience in managing MILCON projects and working on DoD installations
  • Proven leadership and project management abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in facilities planning and programming
  • Knowledge of Naval Facilities (NAVFAC) and Army Corps of Engineers processes
  • Ability to create professional-level correspondence and manage programs effectively
