Job Summary:

IMEG Corp., an employee-owned corporation, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Land Surveyor to join our team. As a Senior Land Surveyor, you will provide leadership in the daily operations of survey activities, including construction layout, boundary, topographic, and as-built surveys.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex survey duties associated with construction stakeout and boundary, topographic, and as-built surveys.
  • Research historic maps, land records, previous surveys, and land title reports.
  • Complete boundary reductions, boundary determinations, and mapping/topographic field reductions in CAD/survey software.
  • Responsible to maintain, and verify accuracy of project survey data and manage to company standards survey database.
  • Proficiency with survey computations, staking/control exhibits, and survey crew instructions for construction staking and field survey projects.
  • Knowledge for the operation and assistance of operation of GPS equipment, total stations, levels, data collectors, and other survey equipment.
  • Supervise CAD Techs in preparing plans and plats describing in detail the surveys performed.
  • Advance the professional and productive working relationships with all clients and coworkers.
  • Prepare proposals, scopes of work, schedules, budgets.
  • Mentor and assist in training junior staff members.
  • Operate a company vehicle.
  • Observe safety and security procedures.

Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of land surveying operations, computations, principles, and practices.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering plans and construction documents.
  • Knowledge and ability to effectively deal with public and governmental agencies, manage field crews, and schedule equipment and supplies.
  • Proficient in on-site office operation, office workflow processes, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Advanced understanding of survey operations and identification of potential problems.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD C3D, survey, GPS, MS Office software.
  • Advanced problem-solving techniques.
  • Proven people management and leadership capabilities.
  • Possesses oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients, officials, contractors, coworkers, and professionally represent IMEG.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Valid driver's license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science or Associates Degree preferred.
  • LS required.
  • 8+ years of experience.
