Job Summary:

The Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is seeking a highly skilled Research Fellow to join our team. As a Research Fellow, you will work collaboratively with our External Research Team to expand our capacity in developing a parent data literacy program curriculum.

This is a research-focused role that requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You will work closely with our internal offices to identify research needs and develop resources to support our staff, parents, and principals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in research, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Office of Family and Community Engagement (FACE) to develop parent/data literacy programming
  • Design a research project to document the expansion of a CPS research community
  • Provide feedback and support on CPS survey design for the external research team
  • Prepare resource guides and presentations for principals to address their schools' needs
  • Work with the Research Partner Manager to address learning needs in the CPS research community

Requirements:

  • Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of five (5) years of research experience
  • Experience working with school-based staff preferred
  • Experience with presenting research findings to various audiences preferred
  • Knowledge of qualitative coding software (MAXQDA, NVIVO) and mapping software (GIS) preferred
