Job Summary

To provide high-quality, patient-centered care as a GI Nurse Practitioner II at UC Davis Health System. This role involves managing chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and specialty protocols. The successful candidate will possess strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-based care environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide independent advanced level nurse practitioner clinical expertise to patients and their families.
  • Manage chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and specialty protocols.
  • Participate in patient and staff education, demonstrating leadership skills and accountability for own practices.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients.
Requirements
  • One (1) year or greater experience as a nurse practitioner.
  • One (1) year of greater recent clinical experience in GI.
  • Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction.
  • California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing License.
  • California Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) without restriction.
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate within 3 months of hire.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis Health CPR.
  • National NP board certification in aligned specialty with the practice area.
  • Graduation with a master's degree, DNP or PhD in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One (1) year or greater recent clinical experience in specialty care of the hiring department highly desirable.
Work Environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Must be able to work and travel to some primary care locations - Elk Grove, Folsom, and Rocklin if needed.
