Job Description:

The Charge Nurse RN plays a vital role in the Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Keller, overseeing the hospital's operations under the direction of the CNO. This position assumes responsibility for implementing hospital goals and objectives, ensuring safe and effective patient care after hours, on weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Assessment of all departments to ensure continuity of care and report pertinent information to management and administration
  • Effective communication of unusual occurrences or complaints for follow-up and intervene immediately when needed
  • Ensuring nursing department staff performs patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces medical/healthcare errors
  • Promoting rehabilitation nursing philosophy and managing staffing plans, nursing hours per patient day, and quality of work of nursing staff

Requirements:

  • Graduate of accredited registered nurse program, bachelor's degree preferred
  • Current unrestricted licensure in the state
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support required, Current Advance Cardiac Life Support required
  • Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) required
  • Minimum of two years of previous nursing management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, evaluate, and direct activities of clinical personnel; effective oral and written communication skills, in English with additional languages preferred; proficiency in basic computer skills required

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, based on location and experience.
