Position: Family Centered Services (FCS) Family Support Specialist (Full-Time)

The Family Access Center is in search of a dedicated Family Centered Services (FCS) Family Support Specialist (FSS) to provide essential support within a dynamic and high-demand environment.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree or an Associate of Arts degree in human services or a related discipline, accompanied by a minimum of two years of full-time experience in the human services sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver in-home support to children and their families, employing skill-based and evidence-based methodologies to assist families in resolving challenges and enhancing their well-being.
  • Serve as a resource, provider, and advocate for families, promoting child welfare initiatives.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions and provide case management services in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Utilize collaborative documentation practices.
  • Establish and maintain effective partnerships with community stakeholders, including DHHS, healthcare providers, legal representatives, therapists, law enforcement, educational officials, and other support networks.
  • Employ evidence-based strategies to assist families and individuals connected to the family, utilizing methodologies such as Solution-Based Casework, SafeCare, Child Safety Conferences, and Motivational Interviewing.
  • Maintain a consistent level of direct engagement with families as per program requirements and be available for crisis intervention as necessary.
  • Exemplify professionalism through role modeling and mutual respect.
  • Utilize personal transportation to travel to service locations and provide community-based support or services in the family’s primary residence.
  • Document and report emergencies and critical incidents involving family members or staff.
  • Actively participate in individual, group, and organizational training and supervision.

Essential Skills and Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Capability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with community resources and service providers within the service area.
  • This is a full-time position requiring flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends, to fulfill contractual commitments.
  • Availability for on-call duties to respond to emergencies as needed.
