Environmentalist Water Quality Professional for Disaster Recovery

SOL Engineering Services, LLC, a leading provider of engineering and technical services, is seeking a highly skilled Environmentalist Water Quality Professional to join our team at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in support of the Public Assistance (PA) Program.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in water quality management, environmental science, or related fields, with significant experience in assessing and mitigating water-related hazards and contamination in disaster-affected areas.
This role will primarily focus on providing expert guidance and support to FEMA's PA Program, specifically in addressing water quality concerns in the aftermath of disasters. The Environmentalist Water Quality Professional will conduct comprehensive assessments of water sources, including surface water bodies, groundwater, and drinking water systems, to evaluate the extent of contamination, pollution, and other water quality issues resulting from disasters.
The selected candidate will be responsible for identifying potential health hazards and risks associated with waterborne contaminants and collecting water samples for laboratory analysis to determine the presence and concentration of pollutants, pathogens, and other contaminants in affected water sources.
In addition to technical expertise, the successful candidate will have strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work well across multiple teams and meet critical deadlines. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to mobilize quickly, commit to a minimum 90-day assignment in remote locations, and work in disaster conditions.

The estimated salary for this position is around $85,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This estimate is based on industry standards and the location of the position.
This role requires a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience in a related field and professional registration or a Bachelor's degree with 10 years of experience in a related field. A Water Quality Association (WQA) Certification is also required.
The selected candidate must be a U.S. citizen and be able to pass an FBI background check. A clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check are also required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and computer skills are essential for this role. The ability to work well in a team environment and meet critical deadlines is also crucial.
