The Golf Shop Operations Associate plays a crucial role in maintaining the functionality and aesthetics of the golf pro shop.

Compensation: $13.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the operation of the facility by managing payments for golfing activities, golf cart rentals, and retail items; scheduling golf reservations; handling cash transactions and issuing receipts; selling merchandise while ensuring adequate stock levels; managing the rental of golf equipment and carts, which may involve lifting heavy items, and providing usage instructions.
  • Enhances customer relations by welcoming visitors, addressing inquiries, and offering assistance, while informing guests of the facility's rules and regulations.
  • Handles phone inquiries and directs calls appropriately.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the pro shop by performing routine cleaning and care of equipment and grounds, including restroom maintenance, waste disposal, and window cleaning.
  • Conducts routine maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Participates in staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Reports any unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned by the Park Manager or Supervisor on Duty.

Essential Qualifications

  • Understanding of golf and its operational aspects.
  • Effective and courteous communication skills with the public.
  • Proficient in operating cash registers and handling cash transactions accurately.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to learn the facility's operations and gain knowledge of NOVA Parks.
  • Physical strength and dexterity to perform all required tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in various positions.
  • Capability to undertake a variety of duties, including custodial responsibilities.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Required to purchase and wear the standard uniform.
  • Some specialized duties may necessitate additional training or certifications.
