About the Role

As a Medical Support Specialist at BioLife Plasma Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of plasma donations. Your primary responsibility will be to determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, and review laboratory test results. You will work closely with the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion
  • Manage donor adverse events, including evaluating donor reactions and following applicable SOPs for medical emergencies
  • Review laboratory test results, including Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE), and refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed
  • Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees, as applicable
  • Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a high school diploma or equivalent, a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program, and a current EMT-Paramedic license. You will also need to have two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting and satisfy state requirements for basic IV therapy. Additionally, you will need to complete the FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
