Position Summary: We are seeking a Full-Time Allergy Nurse to deliver exceptional patient care, including vial preparation, administering allergy injections, and educating patients to achieve the goal of the Ultimate Patient Experience. Previous experience in allergy care is preferred but not mandatory.
Work Schedule: Full-time, requiring availability Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays during standard business hours. Flexibility to support team coverage is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a professional and inviting atmosphere to enhance patient service and care.
- Deliver general care and patient education in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Administer prescribed tests and treatments, including skin prick and intradermal testing.
- Maintain the immunotherapy room with necessary supplies and ensure cleanliness.
- Administer allergy injections while ensuring the presence of a provider.
- Monitor, document, and report patient vitals and treatment reactions.
- Assess patient needs and propose solutions to care challenges.
- Oversee the triaging of patient communications.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document all visits in EMR.
- Ensure patients remain for the required observation period post-injection.
- Learn and execute immunotherapy vial mixing procedures in line with regulations.
- Respond appropriately to patient reactions and inform clinical staff as necessary.
- Assist providers with documentation of treatments, medications, lab requisitions, and consents.
- Anticipate provider needs to facilitate patient flow.
- Exhibit clinical competence and a solid knowledge base in delivering quality patient care.
- Ensure allergy test sets and emergency kits are adequately stocked and current.
- Verify insurance benefits prior to preparing allergy serums.
- Serve as a mentor and resource for staff.
- Collaborate with physicians and staff to identify and resolve issues.
- Stay informed on industry trends through relevant literature and educational opportunities.
- Report any malfunctioning medical equipment to supervisors.
- Manage inventory tasks, including ordering and stocking supplies.
- Participate in all required training and continuing education.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of relevant experience.
- Preferred experience in allergy care.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
- Must pass the NCLEX-RN or state-approved equivalent.
- Active Registered Nurse license in the appropriate state for RN candidates.
- Familiarity with EMR software and patient scheduling systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Excellent patient relations and customer service abilities.
- Open availability for weekday shifts.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA compliance.
Compensation: Hourly pay range of $26—$36 USD.
