We are currently seeking Inspector IIs to join our Kentucky Construction Management Team.
Key Responsibilities:- Apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety, and conformance to plans, specifications, and codes.
- Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal requirements and safety regulations.
- Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials.
- Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and/or pavement to ensure compliance with plans and codes.
- Coordinate and supervise project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance with plans, contract documents, specifications, and standards.
- Work on behalf of the Client to resolve construction-related field issues.
- Gather and maintain record documents.
- Make field notes and computations.
- Interact with the general public, government agencies, contractors, sub-contractors, and other internal and external parties to respond to inquiries.
- Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.
- High school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience).
- 7+ years of Roadway Construction Inspection Experience.
- Preferred Experience: Associates or bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering (may be substituted for experience).
- Required KYTC Certifications (or the ability to obtain): ACI Level I, Grade & Drain Level I, Structures inspection, Aggregate Sampling Technician, KEPSCI-RI, Asphalt Field Technician, Work Zone Technician.
Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
