A deep understanding of designing and developing secure, scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant distributed systems is essential.

The Domain Architect collaborates closely with their assigned domains to steer significant technological decisions. They are responsible for the creation and maintenance of business architecture documents and technology roadmaps pertinent to their domain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate actively in the Domain leadership team to formulate technology strategies and influence technological direction.

• Assume responsibility for all architectural functions within the domain.

• Collaborate with various stakeholders and architects to achieve consensus.

• Develop and maintain a Business Capability map for the domain.

• Create and uphold the Technology Strategy, including current and target state architectures for the domain.

• Engage in all cross-domain architectural discussions.

• Support solution architecture by producing high-level and low-level design documents and necessary artifacts.

• Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Domain Architecture Leader.

Job Responsibilities Breakdown:

• Domain Leadership Engagement (10%)

o Collaborate with the domain as part of the Domain Leadership Team.

o Foster consensus among leadership regarding Technology Strategy.

o Assess the technological feasibility of business cases and concept proposals.

• Engagement on Assigned Domain OKRs and Miscellaneous Projects (15%)

o Collaborate with domain stakeholders to grasp business requirements.

o Ensure all designs receive approval according to architectural guidelines and standards.

• Supporting Solution Architecture (15%)

o Partner with Solution Architects to develop high-level designs.

o Validate low-level designs submitted by Solution Architects.

o Provide guidance and thought leadership to promote effective solutions.

o Mentor Solution Architects.

• Creating and Maintaining Business Capabilities and Target State Technology Architecture (15%)

o Develop business capability maps through interviews with various business stakeholders.

o Conduct capability assessments for new projects and initiatives.

o Generate relevant capability heatmaps to assist in formulating technology roadmaps.

o Create value streams for the domain.

• Documenting Key Decisions and Artifacts (15%)

o Record decisions, risks, impediments, and outstanding items on any design discussions.

o Ensure proper documentation of decisions.

o Capture consensus from all relevant stakeholders.

• Architecture Governance (20%)

o Oversee all high-level and low-level designs presented during Domain Architecture Office Hours.

o Approve designs that satisfy gating criteria.

o Make decisions following approved processes such as buy-vs-build.

o Represent the domain in all architectural governance meetings.

• Cross-Domain Collaboration (10%)

o Collaborate with other Subject Matter Experts and Domain Architects to achieve design consensus.

o Work with other domain architects and the domain architecture leader to identify cross-domain impacts on design.

o Provide education on reusable design elements applicable across domains.

o Collaborate on various cross-domain initiatives.
