Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate accurate cost estimates for grading, paving, and underground utility assignments, employing industry-standard software and practices.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of project specifications and drawings to ascertain requirements and formulate precise cost evaluations.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to set project budgets and timelines.
  • Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to gather reliable pricing data for materials and labor.
  • Assess and negotiate bids and proposals from subcontractors and suppliers to secure optimal value for the project.
  • Create and maintain detailed project documentation, including cost estimates, change orders, and submittals.
  • Continuously track project expenses to proactively identify and mitigate potential cost overruns.
  • Participate actively in project meetings to keep all stakeholders informed and engaged in the project's progress.
  • Offer insightful input and recommendations regarding project design and construction methods to enhance cost efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in grading, paving, and underground estimating, showcasing a solid record of achievement.
  • In-depth knowledge of grading equipment, materials, and techniques.
  • Expertise in cost estimation, with the capability to develop accurate cost assessments and budgets.
  • Preferred background in highway construction, further enriching your comprehension of the field.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to excel in a fast-paced setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, HCSS, and AGTEK software to effectively fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational skills in managing paperwork, files, spreadsheets, and correspondence, adhering to company standards for document management.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents proficiently.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to heavy civil and highway projects, ensuring compliance throughout the estimation process.
