Healthcare Support Specialist

Mercy Health is in search of a committed Medical Assistant to enhance their outstanding team and aid in delivering high-quality healthcare services to the community. The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in patient care by evaluating needs, formulating care strategies, and collaborating with healthcare professionals.
Overview of Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluates assessment information and partners with providers to uphold patient care strategies.
- Educates patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Facilitates patient care and administers medications with precision.
- Acts as a guide and mentor within the healthcare setting.
Qualifications/Certifications:
Current Medical Assistant certification or equivalent (required), BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (required).Experience:
Minimum of 1 year in clinical patient care (preferred).Training:
Familiarity with EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (preferred).Essential Skills:
- Accurately measure and document vital signs.
- Prepare and assist patients for examinations.
- Monitor patient conditions throughout treatment.
- Administer medications and vaccinations.
- Communicate effectively with medical professionals regarding patient care.
- Manage patient inquiries and communications.
- Coordinate scheduling of tests and appointments.
- Conduct telephonic patient assessments.
- Demonstrate skills in critical thinking, effective communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution.
