Job Summary

Vigor, a Titan Company, is seeking a skilled Millwright III to join our Machine team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for disassembling, diagnosing, repairing, and reassembling mechanical components for new builds and ship repair projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to the latest workplace safety regulations and laws.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to dismantle, diagnose, repair, or replace, reassemble, and test small to large assemblies.
  • Clean up the work area at the end of each shift to maintain a well-organized and clutter-free environment.
  • Fit bearings, shafts, attach motors, and connect and align couplings and belts to precise tolerances.
  • Assemble and test mechanical components.
  • Read blueprints, diagrams, bill of materials, schematics, and other technical documents to dismantle and assemble equipment.
  • Help develop plans and sequencing for assemblies.
  • Knowledge of rigging and overhead crane operation, lifting device use, and inspection and load calculations.
  • Perform daily Job Hazard Analysis on work to be done.
  • Use a variety of hand tools and measuring tools.
Requirements
  • 5 years' experience in a related field, with a strong background in mechanical repair and assembly.
  • Ability to work in a team environment or independently as needed.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Knowledge of machined fits and ability to use measuring equipment to verify sizes of parts prior to assembly.
  • Understanding of bearings installation and adjustment, as well as some hydraulic and electrical experience.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and orally.
  • Willingness to work in all environments as needed.
