Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at Massachusetts General Hospital. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the efficient operation of our treatment units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver radiation treatment to patients according to prescription, ensuring accuracy and precision.
  • Document treatment delivery and technical parameters, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Provide exceptional patient care, including orientation and support throughout the treatment process.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth treatment delivery, minimal overtime, and maximum patient comfort and satisfaction.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, including daily output and alignment checks, and verification films as required.
  • Contribute to the clinical instruction of student radiation therapists and the orientation of new staff members.
Requirements
  • Current Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist-Radiation Therapy License.
  • ARRT Certification with active registration and CE compliance.
  • Graduate of an ARRT recognized program in radiation therapy technology, with a BS degree required for those graduating after 2000.
  • Experience with modern linear accelerators, simulation, and verify/record systems, with a clinical internship in a major cancer center preferred.
Working Conditions

This role requires flexibility in working hours and locations, including the Lunder, Proton Center, CoxLL, NWH, Emerson, or other satellites. The incumbent must be willing to work in close physical proximity to team members and adapt to changing department needs and patient volume.
