The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for executing computed tomography (CT) procedures, standard diagnostic x-rays, and portable x-rays as prescribed to aid in the diagnosis of medical conditions or injuries.

This position is a vital component of the America's ER team, with expectations to engage in various responsibilities beyond the conventional Radiology/CT environment.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

_

Conduct all radiologic assessments as directed by the Physician, employing appropriate techniques, industry standards, and established protocols.

Support the Registered Nurse and Physician in executing basic patient care tasks and performing laboratory tests.

Radiologic Technologists are expected to warmly welcome patients and their families, ensuring a courteous and respectful interaction.

Maintaining eye contact, smiling, and communicating clearly and respectfully fosters a professional atmosphere and enhances the patient experience at America's ER.

Timeliness and a professional appearance are crucial for this role.

Radiologic Technologists should arrive punctually and dressed in the approved attire as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Direct contact with patients, including those who may be unwell, is part of the role. Compliance with all Employee Health requirements as specified in the Employee Handbook is expected.

As a PRN (as needed) Radiologic Technologist, availability for one holiday per year is required, along with a minimum commitment of 2 shifts per month, which may include a weekend shift (Saturday or Sunday).



_ Laboratory Responsibilities:
_

Adhere to laboratory protocols for specimen management, testing, reporting, and maintaining patient result records.

Keep documentation that confirms proficiency-testing samples are handled in the same manner as patient specimens.

Follow quality control policies, documenting all QC activities, calibrations, and maintenance of instruments and procedures.

Ensure compliance with laboratory policies when test systems fall outside established performance levels.

Record all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from established specifications.

Be capable of identifying issues that may negatively impact test performance or result reporting, taking corrective action or notifying the Facility Nurse Manager as necessary.


_ Qualifications:
_

A minimum of 5 years of experience in Radiology.

At least 3 years of experience with CT, relevant to the types of studies typically ordered in an Emergency Room setting.

BLS certification is required.

Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program, AAS preferred.

Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Computed Tomography (CT) is mandatory.

Current certification with the Texas Medical Board is required.

Maintain all credentials and continuing education requirements.

Ability to interpret various instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential.

Working Conditions:

Exposure to mild to moderate noise levels.

Occasionally, the employee may need to stand, sit, run, kneel, reach above or below the waist, and push or pull weights up to 100 pounds.
