POSITION: CERTIFIED NURSE PRACTITIONER - INTERNAL MEDICINE

ROLE SUMMARY

We are in search of a dedicated Certified Nurse Practitioner to enhance our internal medicine practice. Our esteemed practice specializes in primary care for patients aged 15 and older, led by a physician with training from a prestigious medical institution.

This role operates autonomously to conduct comprehensive assessments and physical examinations for patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic conditions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Prescribing suitable pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments.
  • Implementing strategies to help patients achieve or maintain physiological stability.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and making appropriate referrals.
  • Providing educational resources to facilitate decision-making for staff, patients, and families.
  • Diagnosing and managing acute infections, injuries, and illnesses.
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, including x-rays and electrocardiograms (EKGs).
  • Documenting and reviewing patients' medical histories, diagnoses, and symptoms.
  • Advising patients on health management and developing tailored treatment plans.
  • Guiding patients on medication management, including potential side effects and interactions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ordering and managing necessary tests for patients, consulting with physicians as needed.
  • Reviewing lab results and assisting the physician with patient communications.
  • Processing prescription refill requests for ongoing medications.
  • Conducting both preventative and acute care visits for patients.

The typical patient load ranges from 10 to 18 individuals per day, with occasional increases based on circumstances.

This position does not require after-hours calls, as those responsibilities are managed by the physicians.

Weekend hours are not standard for patient care, with only occasional requirements for reviewing lab results or administrative tasks based on operational needs. Additional time spent on these tasks will be compensated accordingly.

Eligible candidates will participate in a year-end bonus pool and receive a comprehensive benefits package, including a 401k plan with matching contributions after one year of service.
