Make a Difference in a Child's Life
Kennedy-Donovan Center is seeking patient, loving, and empathetic families to welcome children in DCF custody into their homes. As a foster parent, you will provide a stable and nurturing environment for children in need.
Responsibilities:
- Provide care and support to children during non-school days or sick days
- Attend 36 hours of pre-service training and additional training per calendar year
- Participate in weekly home visits and communicate with social workers
- Schedule and secure transportation for medical and dental visits
- Request planned respite 2 weeks in advance
- Participate in a yearly performance evaluation
- Complete all required paperwork in a timely and professional manner
Requirements:
- Commitment to community-based supports for infants and children with developmental disabilities
- Ability to lift the weight of an infant or child
- Travel required
- Telephone use required
