About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Technician - Industrial Maintenance to join our team at Commercial Metals Company. As an Industrial Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, including troubleshooting and diagnosing issues
  • Assist in the scheduling and prioritization of maintenance activities with ARP Planners
  • Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and uphold the CMC Safety Culture
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and personal knowledge
  • Exercise judgment when troubleshooting AC/DC motor controls, PLC, electrical drives, and high voltage systems
  • Inspect and perform daily maintenance on shop machinery, mobile equipment, and HVAC systems
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, distribution control, fluidic, and electrical systems
  • Maintain specified records of work performed and details of repairs
  • Perform necessary maintenance tasks, including repair or replacement of damaged parts and adjustments and calibration procedures
  • Provide technical assistance to maintenance and production personnel as needed
  • Responsible for daily housekeeping duties, including immediate work area
  • Use SAP maintenance module in the execution of duties and utilize computers to acquire information and documentation
Requirements
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in heights for extended periods of time
  • Ability to think logically, analytically, and solve problems
  • Ability to work from heights
  • AC/DC troubleshooting experience required
  • Knowledge of the melting, casting, and rolling process and related equipment preferred
  • Minimum 5 years industrial maintenance experience preferred
  • MRO system; SAP system experience preferred
  • Must have experience with and the ability to demonstrate electrical and mechanical maintenance principles, concepts, and troubleshooting techniques
  • Operate mobile equipment to lift and transport materials, including loaders, cranes, man-lifts, brick-lift, and forklifts
  • Siemens and/or other PLC troubleshooting experience required
  • Strong multitasking abilities
  • Work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required
