Job Overview

The Psychiatrist will conduct evaluations and, when appropriate, provide treatment through medication management to address the mental health needs of clients enrolled in the program. This role requires proficiency in treating both adult and pediatric populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive medical and psychiatric evaluations with initial diagnostic conclusions that justify the necessity for services in accordance with agency standards.
  • Identify the need for additional medical, psychological, or neurological assessments, along with other specialized evaluations.
  • Inform clients about the effects of prescribed medications and the procedures to follow in case of adverse reactions.
  • Administer medication management services.
  • Ensure timely completion of all required documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with agency personnel and external providers to maintain effective continuity of care.
  • Be available for limited on-call duties in urgent or emergency situations involving clients.
  • Collaborate with up to three psychiatric nurse practitioners.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
Qualifications
  • Education: Doctorate degree required.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Board eligible or certified in Psychiatry; subspecialties are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Possession of an active and unrestricted medical license in Missouri.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise and effective communication abilities.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new electronic medical record systems.
  • Proactive mindset with a strong work ethic and a commitment to teamwork.
  • Dedication to providing high-quality, cost-effective healthcare.
  • Practicing psychiatrists, as well as residents and fellows nearing the completion of their training, are encouraged to consider this opportunity.
Work Environment

General working conditions involve an office setting where responsibilities include answering phones and utilizing computers and other technology. No special conditions are anticipated.

Physical Requirements

Job duties may involve prolonged periods of sitting or standing. Occasional travel may be required, including trips that could last several hours. Minor lifting and moving tasks may be necessary, with the ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
