Job Description:

Actalent is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Analytical Chemist to join their team in a global bio-pharmaceutical organization in North Carolina. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing pharmaceutical products using a range of wet chemistry techniques and analytical instrumentation.

The Analytical Chemist will work closely with the analytical services team to perform critical testing and support the development of new manufacturing equipment. The role will involve performing wet chemistry techniques, such as pH, titration, and viscosity, as well as chromatographic methods, such as HPLC/UPLC, on sterile injectable drug products.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related life science field, with a minimum of 6 months of industry experience in a lab. A bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related field is required.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform wet chemistry techniques and analytical instrumentation to analyze pharmaceutical products
  • Work closely with the analytical services team to perform critical testing and support the development of new manufacturing equipment
  • Develop and implement new analytical methods and techniques as needed
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the quality and integrity of pharmaceutical products
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related life science field
  • Minimum 6 months of industry experience in a lab
  • Strong background in wet chemistry techniques and analytical instrumentation
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Work Environment:

The Analytical Chemist will work in a pharmaceutical chemistry lab with adjacent office space. The role will require working primarily in the ASL group, but may also involve supporting the QC group. Training will be provided, and the successful candidate will be expected to become proficient in the use of analytical instrumentation and techniques within 1-2 months.
