Key Responsibilities:
- Execute cleaning tasks, including sweeping and mopping floors, sanitizing equipment and workspaces, and managing dishwashing duties.
- Prepare beverages, including brewing coffee and stocking beverage machines, while setting up food service areas.
- Deliver food to staff and students as needed, including catering events.
- Adhere to all health department regulations for safe food handling.
- Follow security protocols and guidelines specific to the client location.
- Receive and organize incoming supplies.
- Observe assigned break schedules.
- Assist in collecting and preparing trays for dishwashing and participate in ware washing when assigned.
- Store utensils, dishes, and cookware appropriately.
- Engage in safety committee activities.
- Attend all required training sessions.
- Handle cash and manage POS systems if applicable to the role.
Additional Duties:
- Comply with all company policies and procedures consistently.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of all necessary training as mandated by Whitsons and other relevant entities is required.
Other Qualifications:
Ability to communicate effectively in English to understand and execute job tasks. Previous experience in food service is preferred. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to sit, walk, talk, and hear. Use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The role requires standing for the majority of the workday, with frequent movement back and forth.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, with occasional lifting while turning side to side. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The work is primarily conducted in a kitchen and serving area, requiring standing for most of the day. Movement in and out of storage areas and freezers is necessary, with exposure to extreme temperatures due to cooking and refrigeration equipment. The noise level in the work environment can range from moderate to loud.
