The Senior Estimation Manager collaborates closely with estimators, project leads, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to produce highly accurate and detailed proposals, where company overhead is consistently assessed based on financial metrics, and profit margins are influenced by project-specific factors.

Project expenditures are continuously monitored to provide feedback to the estimating team, allowing for adjustments based on thorough financial evaluations.


Key Duties:

1) Leadership and Oversight:
Ø Direct and mentor the estimating team, offering guidance, coaching, and performance assessments

Ø Establish and enforce estimating protocols and best practices to enhance accuracy and productivity

Ø Collaborate with various departments to ensure a smooth transition from pre-construction to construction phases

Ø Conduct regular team discussions to assess progress and strategize bidding approaches

2) Estimation and Bidding:
Ø Oversee the development of detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, encompassing labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses

Ø Assess plans for the most cost-effective construction methods, ensuring competitive bidding

Ø Conduct due diligence on subcontractor/vendor companies and their submissions

Ø Standardize bids for equitable comparisons

3) Collaboration and Communication:
Ø Engage closely with estimators, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, and clients to grasp project scope, budget limitations, and scheduling needs

Ø Deliver detailed cost reports and presentations to senior management and clients

Ø Foster strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry professionals to secure competitive pricing and quality work

Ø Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits for information gathering

Ø Work alongside the business development team to identify new opportunities and markets

4) Reporting and Documentation:

Candidate Qualifications:

Ø Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Quick Bid, Heavy Bid, Stack, etc.). Note that Excel experience is not considered relevant for this role.

Ø Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Ø Willingness to work overtime and under pressure to meet tight deadlines

Ø OSHA 30 certified within the last five years or the ability to obtain certification before employment

Preferred Qualifications:
Ø Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or equivalent certification

Ø Experience in mechanical estimating

Ø Background in private sector estimating

Ø Familiarity with vertical commercial construction (office buildings, retail spaces, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions)
