Job Overview

Soldiers rely on their weapons to excel on the battlefield. As a Small Arms/Artillery Repairer, your primary responsibility is to maintain the electronic systems that keep these weapons firing for the Army National Guard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply electronic and mechanical principles to repair and maintain complex systems
  • Understand and interpret schematics, drawings, blueprints, and wiring diagrams
  • Operate electronic, electrical, and mechanical test equipment to diagnose and repair issues
Requirements

Through your training, you will develop the skills and experience to enjoy a civilian career as an electronic mechanic, an avionics technician, or a missile facilities repairer with firms that design, build, and test weapons for the military.

How to Get Started

Military enlistment in the Army National Guard is required. You must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate. You must be between the ages of 17 and 35, and meet physical and citizenship requirements.
