Responsibilities- Provide nursing care to patients under the supervision of a skilled RN, ensuring accurate attention to all details and effective communication with patients and colleagues.
- Administer medications as ordered by the provider, using standardized safeguards to ensure safety and accuracy.
- Follow established policies and procedures for infection control, medication administration, and patient care.
- Participate in performance improvement activities, compiling accurate observations for reports and contributing to the monitoring process that ensures all equipment and supplies are available and safe for patient care.
- Deliver health education to patients at their level of understanding, tracking required data for reporting purposes to our program funder, The Children's Trust.
- Assist with planning, coordinating, and tracking the number of child-specific training provided to parents, school faculty, and students.
- Conduct oral health risk assessments and screenings, administering fluoride varnish applications with parental consent.
- Participate in the development, review, and revision of individualized student health care plans (IHCPs), with parental consent.
- Graduate from a standard High School or GED equivalence and an approved Licensed Practical Nurse Program.
- One to two years of experience in acute care or ambulatory care setting preferred.
- Licensed to practice as a LPN in the State of Florida.
- Maintain current CPR certification from the American Heart Association and First Aid certification, following American Heart Association guidelines.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish, English/Creole) desired.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to type 25 WPM.
This is a non-exempt position, requiring flexibility and adaptability to meet changing departmental needs and priorities. You will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with diverse populations and requiring strong interpersonal skills.
