Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Designer to conceptualize and execute electrical systems for solar and energy storage initiatives. This position entails designing and refining electrical systems, overseeing project budgets and schedules, and maintaining exceptional quality standards. You will collaborate closely with various engineering teams and support both design and construction phases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Engineering: Develop comprehensive designs for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and energy storage solutions, including system layouts, component selection, and infrastructure design. Execute AC/DC sizing calculations.
  • Project Management: Supervise electrical design across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with budgetary and scheduling constraints. Manage large-scale solar and storage projects.
  • Collaboration: Work in conjunction with civil, structural, and other engineering disciplines to integrate designs effectively. Ensure smooth project execution.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform electrical calculations and analyses, uphold high design standards, and ensure rigorous quality control.
  • Industry Awareness: Remain informed about the latest equipment and best practices in renewable energy. Incorporate industry advancements into project designs.
  • Construction Support: Address inquiries from contractors and clients, engage in site assessments, and review construction documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5-7 years in electrical design within the renewable energy field, particularly solar and energy storage.
  • Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD or similar design software, MS Office, and knowledgeable about electrical construction methodologies. Experience with utility-scale PV projects and battery energy storage systems (BESS) is advantageous.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) and National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) standards.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective engagement with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Capability to manage project scope, timelines, and budgets. Strong analytical skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Teamwork: A collaborative spirit, self-driven, and capable of working independently with minimal oversight.
