Building Maintenance Specialist

Position Summary: This role requires flexibility to assist at various facilities as needed. The technician will be on-call every third week for urgent maintenance tasks, including but not limited to plumbing issues and snow removal. This position is critical for addressing unexpected emergencies, such as flooding caused by severe weather.

Compensation: The starting pay for this position is $17 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure safe and secure environments for all facility occupants.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including general carpentry, painting, basic electrical work, plumbing, groundskeeping, and light cleaning duties.
• Execute semi-skilled and skilled maintenance work under general supervision.
• Conduct various tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical repairs, and mechanical maintenance.
• Carry out carpentry projects to maintain building integrity; install and repair electrical fixtures, fans, and outlets (if qualified).
• Install and repair plumbing systems, including water and drainage lines.
• Paint and maintain the aesthetics of both interior and exterior spaces.
• Repair and maintain laundry facilities and equipment.
• Utilize a range of tools and equipment, including hand tools, saws, drills, and maintenance vehicles.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare routine reports on time spent and materials used.
• Foster a risk-free environment within the facility.
• May supervise a helper in completing maintenance tasks.
• Perform additional maintenance-related duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Experience in general building maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, basic electrical work, and HVAC is preferred.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
