Position Overview:

The role of the CMV Truck Driver is integral to the shipping and receiving department, focusing on the operation of a box truck to transport products efficiently. This position requires adherence to our company’s Good Manufacturing Practices while navigating public roadways.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate machinery, tools, and vehicles.
  • Conduct maintenance checks on the company vehicle before, during, and after use.
  • Maintain all necessary CMV certifications as mandated by DOT and OSHA.
  • Transport materials and products as directed by the supervisor.
  • Assist with various warehouse tasks as assigned.
  • Monitor material usage and supply production lines with necessary raw materials and finished goods.
  • Load and secure products in compliance with customer specifications.
  • Ensure production areas are stocked with raw materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and workspaces.
  • Comply with corporate and plant safety standards, as well as applicable regulations.
  • Exhibit punctuality and professionalism when interacting with customers.
  • Perform additional duties as required by management.

Work Environment:

This position involves exposure to varying temperatures and outdoor weather conditions throughout the year. Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must be able to:

  • Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel and supervisors.
  • Operate a motorized vehicle or box truck.
  • Remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Utilize ladders to access materials.
  • Position themselves to reach lower machinery or products.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Preferred: 1 year of truck driving experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations.
  • Current OSHA forklift certification is preferred.
