Job Title: Nurse Substitute

Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) position available at Caldwell Independent School District.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Substitute to provide continuous, smooth, and efficient operation of school health services during the absence of the campus clinic staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate ill and injured children and communicate with parents as needed.
  • Administer First Aid, CPR, or AED as needed.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and in compliance with State law and District policy.
  • Follow students' medical protocol.
  • Comply with all Nursing Practice Act regulations.
  • Manage student behavior.
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance to ensure a consistent focus on student learning.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid Texas license (LVN) issued by the Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners.
  • Current cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) certificates.
  • One year experience in a health-related position; experience working with school-age children.
Working Conditions:

Exposure to biological hazards, bacteria, and communicable diseases.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Monitor the work and issue work assignments to health clinic aide and health services aide.
