Position Overview

As a vital member of the Application Consulting, Development, and Engineering team within the Information and Technology Solutions Directorate, you will contribute to a diverse range of intricate web and mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in the support and development of software solutions for various institutional tools and applications, including platforms for project formulation, collaboration tools, and multiple internal and external applications.
  • Participate in a dynamic technical team utilizing agile methodologies to design, test, and implement software applications, while also providing comprehensive documentation and procedures for development and operational needs.
  • Leverage your extensive expertise in scalable and modular systems to shape system architectures and guide technical planning and decision-making processes.
Required Qualifications:
  1. Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  2. A minimum of five years of experience in developing high-performance web applications within distributed system environments.
  3. Deep understanding of architecting and building scalable enterprise applications and data aggregation systems.
  4. Proactive and autonomous work ethic is highly valued.
  5. Extensive programming experience in Python, Go, HTML/CSS, and JavaScript.
  6. Strong familiarity with web application development frameworks such as Tornado and Django.
  7. In-depth knowledge of NoSQL database solutions, including ArangoDB, MongoDB, and Neo4j.
  8. Proficient in relational database solutions like PostgreSQL and MySQL.
  9. Experience in utilizing RESTful web services frameworks.
  10. Familiarity with software version control systems, particularly Git/GitHub.
  11. Proven ability in technical writing and presentation, with experience in generating technical documentation for software development projects.
  12. Working knowledge of software and systems engineering practices and associated artifacts.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  2. Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals and theoretical concepts.
  3. Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  4. Familiarity with issue-tracking systems like JIRA and ZenHub.
  5. Experience in Agile/Scrum environments across multiple roles.
  6. Basic knowledge of web front-end frameworks, including React, Polymer, and Angular.
  7. Experience with Amazon Web Services and related products.
