The talent acquisition expert will formulate strategies and manage the recruitment process, executing sourcing or recruiting campaigns throughout the organization. This position entails not only identifying and screening candidates but also crafting corporate policies related to talent benchmarking, assessment, and interviewing standards. The talent acquisition department will collaborate with various departments, including legal, to ensure compliance with employment regulations.
Essential Skills and Competencies
- Comprehensive understanding of Texas employment laws and practices.
- Proven ability to handle a variety of sensitive and confidential matters.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong presentation abilities.
- Effective time management skills and adaptability to shifting priorities.
- Ability to resolve issues using judgment aligned with established policies and regulations.
- Capacity to adjust to changing work demands and engage with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
- Self-driven and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, diverse environment with minimal oversight.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and proactively build a pool of qualified candidates; screen, interview, and, if necessary, submit candidates for background checks and reference validation.
- Develop local and regional recruitment strategies utilizing traditional sourcing methods while also researching and recommending new avenues for both active and passive recruitment.
- Network and sustain community relationships; coordinate and execute college recruitment initiatives by participating in job fairs and maintaining active communication with student career centers.
- Conduct regular follow-ups with hiring managers to assess the effectiveness of current recruitment strategies and their implementation.
- Provide routine reports to the Recruitment Manager using a standardized format.
