Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Family Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the Penn Yan Central School District. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, you will provide primary care services to patients ranging from infants to seniors, conducting well checks, screening for disease symptoms, administering treatments, and ordering tests to enhance patients' overall well-being.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide counseling and education to patients on health promotion, maintenance, and restoration
  • Educate patients on the use of community services and the promotion of healthy behaviors
  • Counsel patients on family planning, including contraception, pregnancy, STDs, and childbirth
  • Advise patients on the aging process and promotion of well-being in advanced age
  • Perform examinations, take and evaluate comprehensive health histories, and provide physical exams
  • Diagnose and manage acute episodic and chronic medical illnesses, as well as stable behavioral/psychological problems
  • Perform simple in-office procedures as needed
  • Provide well-child care, including screening and administering immunizations
  • Initiate consultation requests with specialists and other health professionals for appropriate medical conditions
  • Order diagnostic tests, interpret labs and studies, and establish management treatments
  • Prescribe non-pharmacological therapies and pharmacological agents, including Schedule II-V controlled substances, within scope of practice
Requirements
  • A current, unrestricted NYS Nurse Practitioner License
  • National board certification in Family Medicine or Med-Peds
  • CPR certification
  • Prior experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings
  • Ability to communicate fluently in both Spanish and English (preferred)
