Job Title: Truck Driver

We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team at TransForce. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting hazardous materials, bulk goods, and other products safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Loading and unloading of bulk, drummed, or bagged material
  • LTL Interplant Trailer Movement & Branch Transfers
  • Follow all operating procedures, and work instructions
  • Performs all duties in a safe manner and follow all rules and regulation
  • Completes all training as required in the Regulatory/Compliance Training Program
  • Properly use materials such as labels, placards, stenciling and paint
  • Properly cares for and uses all equipment such as forklifts, drum handling equipment, pumps, hoses, etc.
  • Secure dual sign off before transferring any product from one vessel to another
Functional Responsibility & Authority:

Drive tractor trailer combination, usually short distances to transport and deliver products either in bulk or packaged form. Verify load against shipping papers. Inspect vehicle before and after trip and report any discrepancies to the Fleet Maintenance Office. Maintain logs according to DOT regulation. Report arrival times and hours of service available via voice mail. May perform other duties as specified by the immediate supervisor. Assists in the routing of the delivery fleet. Expected to understand and use the applicable procedures in the delivery process. This includes using the POD & LIVE systems. Responsible for final inspection and approval for outbound shipments. Responsible for any additional duties as defined by the Management.

Requirements:
  • Driving Hazmat, Tanker, LTL, or Bulk loads in the local area
  • Ability to load and unload Hazardous Material
  • Hazmat and Tanker endorsements Required
  • Current Class A CDL with a Medical Card Required
  • A minimum of 1 year Liquid Bulk Hauling Experience (recommended)
  • A minimum of 3 years truck driving experience (recommended)
  • Comfortable with the use of a Forklift, and general warehouse duties
  • Knowledge of DOT load securement regulations
  • Clean driving record
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certification from Accredited Commercial Driving Academy (not required)
General Qualifications:
  • A good safety and attendance record.
  • A valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL).
  • Thorough understanding of the importance of customer service and the ability to work cooperatively with other departments and personnel in meeting customer needs.
  • Ability to interface well with customers and their employees.
  • Skills associated with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to understand and comply with all company policies and procedures pertinent to the Distribution Department as applicable to the job.
  • Ability to understand and carry out Distribution Department process descriptions applicable to the job.
  • Willingness to accept overtime (both scheduled and impromptu), to be subject to and available for call-in, and to work other shifts as needed to meet customer needs.
