About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs to help patients achieve optimal recovery and functionality.
  • Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients' conditions to identify areas for improvement and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Establish, revise, and evaluate plans of care that are tailored to patients' needs and capabilities, involving them and their families as appropriate.
  • Perform therapy interventions using standard physical therapy techniques and skills, adapting to the age and condition of each patient.
  • Supervise the activities of physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel to ensure seamless care delivery.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or certificate in Physical Therapy required.
  • Graduate of a Physical Therapy Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Current State licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Experience in acute care and/or orthopedics preferred.
Physical Demands

The ideal candidate will be able to:

  • Walk and climb stairs without assistive devices and maintain balance to support patients.
  • Meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level, as defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor.
  • Lift and reach with arms to support patients during therapeutic treatment programs.
  • Use sensation of touch and manual dexterity to palpate muscle tension and monitor patient pulse.
  • Observe patients' gross and fine motor movements to analyze and read patient monitors.
  • Speak clearly to instruct patients and families and hear at a conversational level to understand patient descriptions and responses.
