The MRI Tech reports to the Imaging Director for clinical purposes. Operation of x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated anatomic position of the body with the least amount of discomfort to the patient that provides images of a diagnostic quality.
Key Responsibilities:- Research implants, stents, etc. to assure safe scanning
- Assist outpatient scheduler to ensure appropriate scheduling of exams
- Determine what patients need pre-MRI Imaging
- Obtain lab values on those patients needing contrast
- Perform QC on unit as instructed by manufacturer
- Determine appropriate levels of helium are present
- Perform safety screen when patient presents to scanner, ensuring all magnetic objects are removed
- Position and scan as per protocols
- CT & Xray experience preferred
- ARRT license
- MRI Certification
- BLS
- State of Maine License
- One year of experience preferred
- Ability to use multiple computer systems
