The Sterilization Technician at Advanced Oral Surgery & Periodontics is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of sterilization and decontamination in our facility.
- Collects and processes used and contaminated equipment, instruments, and supplies for sterilization.
- Performs manual cleaning and sanitizing of supplies to ensure they meet our quality standards.
- Operates and maintains decontamination equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Prepares and packages decontaminated supplies for sterilization, ensuring accurate labeling and documentation.
- Conducts thorough inspections to ensure all supplies are properly cleaned and sanitized.
- Monitors and reports any issues or problems with sterilization equipment to ensure prompt resolution.
- Prepares and delivers all necessary equipment and instruments for procedures, ensuring timely and accurate setup.
- Maintains accurate records of sterilization procedures, sterilized items, equipment maintenance, and supplies.
- Monitors inventory and supplies to ensure optimal levels and minimize waste.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to support the team.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- One year of relevant experience is preferred, with certification in Sterile Processing and Distribution being a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work methodically in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and care.
- Good judgment and critical thinking skills to troubleshoot equipment issues and optimize processes.
- Manual dexterity and ability to handle fragile equipment with care.
- Technical skills and knowledge of sterilization techniques to ensure optimal results.
- Ability to work effectively in a team or independently, with strong communication skills.
