POSITION SUMMARY
The K9 Operations Supervisor will be tasked with overseeing the K9 Handlers to ensure that cargo inspections are conducted in accordance with TSA standards and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide leadership and training to designated Handlers and their canines.
- Conduct and supervise authorized duties related to X-Ray, physical searches, and explosive trace detection as necessary.
- Execute canine training, assessments, and administrative tasks as required for assigned Canine Teams.
- Manage, oversee, and coordinate post assignments and schedules for canine Handlers, including vacation coverage to ensure adequate staffing.
- Engage in CCSP-related training to search cargo and identify explosive threats.
- Perform Handler responsibilities while managing a trained explosive detection dog.
- Maintain accurate training records.
- Ensure the care and upkeep of the assigned certified canine, which must reside within the employee's home. The living conditions must be suitable, indoor, and climate-controlled for the canine, subject to regular inspections.
- Maintain all job-related certifications and necessary security clearances.
- Be prepared to operate a company vehicle during on-site training.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
- A minimum of two years of documented experience handling an explosive detection dog in an operational setting.
- Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
- Military or Law Enforcement background is advantageous.
- Ability to obtain a Known Traveler Number (KTN) within a specified timeframe upon employment.
- Must have reliable transportation to transport the assigned canine and crate to/from the work location, with operational climate control.
- Ability to pass the required Contract Testing and Certifications within a designated timeframe; the candidate must uphold certification requirements.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record for the past three years are essential.
- Effective oral and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Strong organizational abilities to manage time and multiple priorities effectively.
- Problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset.
- Capability to adapt to a rapidly evolving environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS
The role is based in a dynamic training environment and is subject to frequent interruptions. Availability for nights, weekends, and holiday hours will be required, with a variable work schedule. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be capable of lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing, or moving objects weighing up to 100 lbs. Various tasks may necessitate intermittent standing or prolonged sitting, along with the ability to walk, reach, kneel, crouch, and handle work-related supplies and tools.
