Vail Health, a leading nonprofit community healthcare system, seeks an experienced Perinatal Care Specialist to join its esteemed Family Birth Center RN team. Located in the picturesque town of Vail, Colorado, our state-of-the-art hospital offers exceptional care to patients from around the world.

This role is responsible for delivering expert, compassionate, and individualized nursing care to antepartum patients, laboring mothers, newborns, and their families. Our Perinatal Care Specialist will oversee patient flow, triage incoming requests, and collaborate with providers and staff to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimize patient care, safety, and satisfaction by managing daily patient flow
  • Triage incoming patient requests for services, prioritizing needs and responding accordingly
  • Deliver patient education to facilitate informed healthcare choices and promote wellness
  • Delegate care appropriately and adhere to Colorado statute
  • Assess patients, prioritize skills, and demonstrate critical thinking
  • Handle high telephone volumes, addressing patient inquiries and concerns
  • Administer medications, perform treatments, and assist in procedures as needed, adhering to patient safety guidelines
  • Cultivate partnerships with other physician practices, Vail Health, and external organizations to enhance patient care and satisfaction

Requirements:

  • One-year clinical experience required
  • State of Colorado Registered Nurse license (ability to obtain and maintain)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP), and Advanced Cardiac Life Safety (ACLS) certifications
  • Associate Nursing Degree (minimum) or higher
