Job Summary

Rochester General Hospital is seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room environment, including the setup and breakdown of equipment and supplies.
  • Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.
  • Assist the surgical team in maintaining a safe and efficient operating room environment.
  • Participate in the turnover of the operating room, including cleaning, prepping, and mopping as needed.
  • Collaborate with the anesthesia team to ensure a smooth transition of patients from the pre-operative to the post-operative phase.
Requirements
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA) is required.
  • 2 years of experience in an acute care facility, with a focus on vascular surgery.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with vascular surgery, including hybrid and open surge cases.
  • Knowledge of specialty equipment, including infusion pumps, ultrasound machines, and robotic systems.
Work Schedule

The successful candidate will work a 12-hour day shift, with one weekend shift per month.
