We are seeking a Senior Data Engineering Manager to lead our data engineering team and oversee the development and implementation of technical solutions for our data platforms. As a key member of our Data Office, you will be responsible for setting the vision and direction for our data products, ensuring alignment with our stakeholders across the bank and in IT.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Act as a technical product owner for our cloud data platforms, including Azure Databricks, and collaborate with other product owners and managers to deliver value to our customers.
  2. Oversee the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of data products and platforms, ensuring quality, reliability, and scalability.
  3. Establish and enforce data engineering standards, best practices, and guidelines, and ensure compliance with our enterprise data architecture and governance frameworks.
  4. Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data issues, and ensure data quality and security.
  5. Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and coaching to our data engineers, and foster a culture of innovation and excellence.
Requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in data engineering, cloud data platforms, and technical leadership. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Over 8 years of experience in data engineering, including developing ETL/ELT, data pipelines, data lakes, data warehouses, and data integration solutions.
  • Over 3 years of experience in managing and leading data engineering teams, preferably in a financial services or banking domain.
  • Over 3 years of experience in working with cloud data platforms, ideally Azure Databricks, and other Azure data services such as Data Factory, Data Lake Storage, Synapse Analytics, etc.
  • Expertise in building scalable, reliable, and secure data products and platforms, using metadata driven, event driven, and API driven approaches.
  • Experience in working with stakeholders on gathering requirements, defining user stories, and translating them to data solutions, with a focus on developing reusable and modular components.
