Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to work with students in a school-based setting in Totowa, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational therapy and experience working with students to develop their fine motor skills, sensory processing abilities, and daily living skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, focusing on enhancing their functional abilities for school and daily life.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school professionals to support students' goals and progress.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide expert recommendations for accommodations and interventions.
  • Educate and support school staff and parents on strategies to aid students' development.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Valid New Jersey OT license.
  • Previous experience in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of IEP processes and relevant state and federal regulations.
