We are seeking a dedicated process development engineer to join our Display Technologies Organization, focusing on the development of new display and optics module architectures for future Apple innovations. This role involves working within a fast-paced, highly technical team at Apple's Module Technology Center (MTC).

Key Responsibilities

Lead the initiation and advancement of new processes using R&D equipment. Transform incubation technologies and proof-of-concept processes into scalable solutions through effective module process optimizations and builds. Engage in hands-on module process validation within development laboratories, including resource and Design of Experiments (DOE) planning, empirical validation trials, characterization, data analysis and visualization, parameter optimization, documentation, and result reporting. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strategize and synchronize validation plans and build activities, while effectively communicating technical results and challenges to executives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Proven experience in process development, conducting DOE's, characterization, and data analysis.
  • Strong background in failure mode analysis, root cause investigation, and problem-solving to enhance product yield and quality.
  • Excellent technical communication skills to facilitate cross-functional planning and alignment, and to present development outcomes.
  • Adaptable and collaborative, with a willingness to thrive in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
  • Detail-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to work within teams to deliver professional, high-quality results.
  • Proficient in data analysis and processing with clear visualizations using tools such as Matlab, Python, JMP, or similar.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (Ph.D. or M.S.) is preferred.
  • Demonstrated capability to enable, enhance, and realize new design architectures through process development insights.
  • Proven success in transitioning novel processes from R&D to scalable solutions.
  • Well-organized with clear communication of in-depth technical results and issues to executive management.
  • Experience with mechanical design in CAD systems (Solidworks, NX, AutoCAD) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with optical components, films, and assembly processes is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
  • At Apple, base pay is one component of our comprehensive compensation package, determined within a specified range. This allows for growth as you develop within your role. The base pay range for this position is between $143,100 and $264,200, with actual pay depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
