We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Management Specialist to join our team at the Bureau of Naval Personnel. As a Financial Management Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and validity of monetary entitlements associated with expenses claimed and authorized on a travel claim.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement specialized queries to manipulate data sets and produce recurring reports that show timelines and accuracy trends.
- Plan and prioritize work to ensure effective and expeditious accomplishment of priority work without adverse effect on regular, recurring work.
- Assign work to subordinates, develop performance standards, and evaluate employee performance.
- Provide oversight, advice, and instruction to ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
- New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
- At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
- Experience must demonstrate the following: assisting in the maintenance of travel claim processing, conducting independent studies and investigations of military travel issues, reviewing management actions and periodic reports, researching issues and preparing correspondence, and identifying causative situations and recommending corrective actions.
