Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct a variety of mammographic procedures utilizing independent judgment to ensure high-quality patient care while demonstrating exceptional skill in film evaluation.
- Operate an array of radiographic and auxiliary equipment, including mammographic, ultrasound, and stereotactic breast biopsy machines, as well as mobile radiographic and fluoroscopic devices as required.
- Select appropriate film sizes, collimate, and position equipment accurately to achieve clear and diagnostic radiographs.
- Assist radiologists in executing and producing various fluoroscopic procedures by setting the necessary radiographic technique factors, preparing and administering contrast media, and positioning patients for required exposures.
- Oversee the maintenance of mammography equipment and components, ensuring compliance with Quality Control/Quality Assurance standards in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Exhibit competence in performing patient care responsibilities that align with the specific and developmental needs of the patient population served.
- Adapt patient assessment and care methods to meet the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, and age-specific needs of each individual.
- Uphold the CORE VALUES of CHRISTUS Health in all interactions and responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program or an equivalent recognized institution.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in Diagnostic Radiology is preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Mammography.
- Registered by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in both Radiography and Mammography is required.
