Job Overview

Position Rate: $18.00 per hour

Employment Type: Seasonal

General Objective:

The Seasonal Ice Rink Manager is responsible for overseeing various operational and administrative functions within an ice rink setting. This role involves supervising part-time staff, including rink guards and cashiers, while working under the guidance of the Full-Time Recreation Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage public skating sessions, instructional classes, rentals, and special events, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and upkeep of the ice rink, skate shop, concession area, and surrounding facilities; ensure the ice surface is maintained to a high standard.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times while fostering a welcoming environment for patrons.
  • Conduct training sessions for part-time staff to enhance their skills and service delivery.
  • Strive to provide an exceptional experience for all visitors, promptly addressing inquiries and concerns.
  • Uphold confidentiality in all operations and collaborate effectively with colleagues, treating everyone with respect.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and reliability in attendance, adhering to scheduled shifts.
  • Utilize equipment and resources efficiently, managing inventory levels to control costs and optimize operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including clerical tasks, maintenance, and departmental support.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • CPR Certification (adult-child-infant) from a recognized organization.
  • AED Certification from a recognized organization.
  • First Aid Certification from a recognized organization.
  • Some college education is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to operate an ice resurfacing machine (Zamboni).
  • Proficient in basic computer applications and cash register operations.
  • Strong public relations and communication skills.
