Sign-On Bonus:
  • $10,000 for new graduates with a two-year work commitment.
  • $12,500 for experienced nurses with a two-year work commitment.

Role Purpose:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a crucial role in the healthcare team, utilizing sound nursing judgment and adhering to UPMC LPN Practice Guidelines and State Board Regulations. The LPN is involved in the planning, execution, and assessment of nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or licensed UPMC provider.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Function effectively as a member of the healthcare team, applying nursing knowledge and skills.
  • Engage in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare team members to address patient care needs.
  • Document patient information comprehensively to enhance caregiver communication.
  • Provide education to patients and families, guiding them through their care journey.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain productive relationships with colleagues and demonstrate accountability for actions.

Qualifications:

Successful completion of a Licensed Practical Nursing Program approved by the State Board of Nursing is required. Candidates must demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skills to provide appropriate care for patients of varying ages.

Experience in healthcare is preferred, but not mandatory. Candidates should possess the ability to establish positive relationships with diverse individuals and work effectively in a dynamic environment.


Licensure and Certifications:

Must maintain state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and hold Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
